What is a WISP?
A Written Information Security Plan (WISP) is a required document under the FTC Safeguards Rule for all tax preparers. It describes how your firm protects client data. The IRS strongly recommends all tax professionals have one. Failure to maintain a WISP can result in FTC civil penalties up to $100,000 per violation.
